Offchain Labs Acquires Prysmatic Labs: Earlier this month, Offchain Labs, the firm behind Ethereum layer 2 network Arbitrum, announced that they have acquired Prysmatic Labs, one of the leading teams behind Ethereum proof-of-stake. Prysmatic Labs is known for developing Prysm,  Ethereum’s most popular consensus layer client, which was audited by Quantstamp.

Google Cloud’s Blockchain Node Service: At the end of October, Google Cloud announced that they’ll be introducing their Blockchain Node Engine, starting with Ethereum. Google Cloud has said that it will be a “fully managed node-hosting service that can minimize the need for node operations,” meaning Google will actively monitor nodes and restart them in the case of outages.

Devcon // October 11-14

The Quantstamp team was in Bogota this month presenting our lightning talks: “The Blockchain Bridge That You Dream About” with Dr. Martin Derka, and “An Overview and Wishlist for Rollup Escape Hatches” with Dr. Jan Gorzny. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us!

We also hosted RaveQuest: A New Merge at Kaputt Club, Bogota’s biggest underground nightclub after Devcon. We’re so excited to have brought together an incredible lineup of Colombian artists & performers for an unforgettable night!

At the end of October, we were in Lisbon for Builders Happy Hour after Breakpoint 2022, and the Crypto Economics Security Conference at Berkeley. We had so much fun meeting everyone and seeing the awesome sketch paintings!
