⟠ Ethereum’s PoS Transition: On June 8, the Ethereum network completed a test run of its ETH 2.0 upgrade on the Ropsten testnet. With almost universal validator coordination and some minor bugs being fixed, it was considered a great success. On July 6, the Sepolia merge transition was also successful, leaving Goerli as the next major milestone in the journey towards the mainnet merge.

NCC 2022:
Kei Oda, Head of Japan and APAC at Quantstamp spoke at the New Context Conference (NCC) 2022 in Tokyo this past month. The on-site and online hybrid conference had a theme of “Web3 Summer Gathering - Catch the Wave of Future Innovation Technology.”

Consensus:
The Quantstamp team headed to Consensus in Austin, Texas. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth or helped us wrap up the week with some live music, cocktails and donuts on Rainey Street!

DCENTRAL: Taking place in Austin just before Consensus kicked off, Quantstamp Managing Director Don Ho joined Ankitt Guar (Founder and CEO of EasyfiNetwork) and Michael So (Co-founder of Okra Finance) for a panel entitled DeFi 2.0: The Shift is Happening. Catch the full session on YouTube.


NFT.NYC: If you were in New York for NFT.NYC, you may have spotted something familiar on the streets! Along with Eternal.gg and BALLERZ, Quantstamp also hosted an after party at Mission NYC featuring Sean Kingston—thank you to everyone who was able to join us!

EthCC: This month, several Quantstamp team members are headed to France for EthCC, so be sure to stop by our booth to say hi. We’ll also be hosting a couple of side events, so if you’re planning to attend, keep an eye on our social channels for more details over the coming days.

Rollup Escape Hatches

After years of effort, rollups are becoming mainstream components of the Ethereum ecosystem. An escape hatch is a method to recover digital assets or program state from a rollup when sequencers or validators are offline, a critical security feature if something goes wrong, and crucial given the complexity of these systems.
